A couple of new things with this one. I'm using Arches hot press watercolor paper, and got a few surprises. I didn't think I'd get any of the granularity I'm seeing from the Cobalt blue, and the paper stayed wet much longer. Perhaps the latter was due to the impending rain that we got at the end of June. Still, the hot press is pretty direct, and I didn't try to do any smooth gradations at all, so anything that did gradate did it on its own.
I have a true fondness for meringues. If they're baked right they're pure white and have great natural curves. That warm light really was bouncing around under the right cookie. I'll wager I paint even more of these as the year progresses.

Week #23- Rosie's Eggs
Rosie is the sweetest, most petite woman at work who lives up on a farm in Petaluma. Every few weeks she surprises us with eggs from her chickens or flowers from the garden. That's a nice kind of friend to have.
