Every Friday a group of us at work get together and paint still lifes for a few hours. The white onions lent themselves well to my gray theme. There are some darker terra-cotta marks that dot the ground plane in this painting. As I was using a ruler to draw in the horizon line a bunch of plasticene clay from its underside marked the surface. Rather than start over I just went with it. Does it work? No, but now it's a multi-media piece instead of a pure watercolor. Cool!
