It's Finally Fall
How can we tell? One earthquake, two electrical outages, and one fire evacuation.
This is a 13 x 10" painting that our Friday morning "Paint Donuts" group attacked. I love painting papery surfaces and their translucent qualities.

Growing Up Through the Awkward Teenage Years
I can always accept that pieces look more abstract at their initial phase. It's the middle stage that almost always has me in doubt about my piece. I think it's really healthy to take photos of paintings during that iffy stage. Now that I look back at this one, the glossy feel of the chocolate was much better in that middle, teenage phase than it was in the final painting. I needed to strike a balance between teenager and adulthood.
Maybe there's a larger lesson there.
This one's about 5 x 5".
More minis to come.
And now, for a baby
I've been sneaking quick, small paintings in amongst ones that take longer. This is a 6 x 6" piece. I think the shadows within the shoes are too heavy and dark. If I were to do it again they would've been lighter and less blue.
Onward.
