It's time to be honest. I like this painting. It's okay. But I've gotten into the habit of being far too tight with my work. Everything is painted to the same level of detail. Perhaps if I air out my complaints here it'll help me commit to changing.
Here's what I'd like to do: I want to paint images that have those areas of lovely, tight focus, but let other areas soften and lose detail while gaining spontaneity and have a much looser feel.
Okay. I've said it. Now I have to do it.
