Hitting the Wall

It's been a pretty long time since I've posted something, and here's why: I've hit a slump. I've been diligently painting but doing marginal work. I've had 3 torn up paintings in 3 weeks. So I thought I'd take a bit of a break. I felt a total lack of enthusiasm to jump back in. After sort of wallowing through my crappiness, I finally decided that the break really wasn't helping me at all.

This past Saturday I met with a woman who is commissioning me to do a piece, and the pieces she brought over were really cool. That opened up the gates again and I started taking photos of her pieces along with other things that were looking promising to me:

From that point I decided it was time to force myself to the drawing table and jump in. This time it worked. I'm excited about painting and wish I could stick with it for a few days (instead of going to work!). Hopefully that's a sign that I can be productive again. The alternative wasn't that much fun.

Onward...
